Wisdom of the Buddhas
Ven.Wu Ling
Buddha was well known for his ability to respond to evil with good.
And there was a man that knew about this reputation and he traveled miles and miles to test Buddha.
When he got in Buddha’s presence he verbally abused him, he insulted and offended him. Buddha was unmoved.
He simply turned to the man and said: ‘ May I ask you a question?’
The man agreed and said: ‘ Well what?’
Buddha: ‘ When someone offers you a gift and you decline to accept it, to whom then does it belong?’
Man: ‘ Well then it belongs to the person who offered it.’
Buddha smiled: ‘That is correct.’
Buddha: So if I decline to accept your abuse, does it not then still belong to you? The man was speechless and left.

Bridging Science And Buddhism
“If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.” Albert Einstein
Watching The Mind Is An Individual Research Method
Human beings have a capacity to watch and become aware of the way mind functions –watching as an individual method into “mind research”. It makes us aware the way our mind functions.
A phenomena can be approached scientifically if it is repeatable and measurable. Watching the mind enters into this category. Everyone can watch his/her mind whenever he likes. By watching the mind the brain will start emitting alpha rays and that can be measured by electroencephalogram (ECG). Watching the mind as an individual research is a function of consciousness itself. Mind is creating the thoughts, consciousness is watching them and becoming aware of how much they create our life.

Introducing Buddhism-Ven.Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Maha Thero
The Buddha achieved enlightenment. He avoided the two extremes of self-indulgence (which retards spiritual progress) and self-mortification (which weakens the intellect), and instead discovered and followed the middle path (Majjhima Patipada) which led to his enlightenment. Thereafter he taught this path until his death.
The Buddha is not a God, nor a savior who can save others. He explained that deliverance from suffering can only be gained by self-exertion and advised his disciples to be self-reliant.
“Striving should be done by yourselves. The Tathagatas (Buddhas) are only teachers.” (Dhammapada, verse 276)
