අග්ගඤ්ඤ සුත්‍රය -දීඝනිකාය, පාථිකවග්‌ගපාළි
පෘථිවියේ ජීවයේ සම්භවය යෙන්
ලෝකය හටගන්නා කල්හි බොහෝ සෙයින් සත්වයෝ ආභස්සර බ්‍රහ්ම ලෝකයෙන් චුතව මනුෂ්‍ය ලෝකයට පැමිණෙති. සත්වයෝය යන කොටසටම ඇතළත් වෙති. වාසෙටඨය, ඉක්බිත්තෙන් කිසි කලෙක්හි දීරග කාලයෙක්හුගේ ඇවෑමෙන් ඒ සත්වයන්ට ජලයෙහි රස පොළොව පිහිටන්නීය.
වාසෙටඨය, ඉක්බිත්තෙන් ඒ සත්වයෝ රස පොළොව අනුභව කරමින් එයම කමින් එයම ආහාර කොට ඇතිව බොහෝ දීර්ග කාලයක් සිටින්නාහුය. ඒ සත්වයන්ගේ ශරීරයෙහි රඵ ගතියද ඇතිවිය. වරණයාගේ වෙනස්වීමද පෙණුනේය. වරණය නිසා උපන් අධික මාන හේතුවෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ රස පොළොව නැතිවී ගියේය. පුරාණ ලෝකෝප්පත්ති වංශ කථාව මෙසේ ඇතිවිය.
