දශ අකුසලයේ – (6 – 10) ‘පරුෂ වචනය’
අතිපූජ්‍ය රේරුකානේ චන්දවිමල මහනාහිමියන් විසින් රචිත බෞද්ධයගේ අත්පොත නම් කෘතියෙන් දශඅකුසලයේ සයවන අකුසළය වන “පරුෂ වචනය” ගැන පලකර කොටසින් . (පිටු අංක 70 -73) උපුටා ගන්නා ලදී. ඉතිරි අකුසල ධර්මය කොටස් වශයෙන් ඉදිරි සති වලදී පලකෙරෙණු ඇත.
පරුෂ වචනයෙන් වැළැක සිටීම ගුණවත් මිනිසුන්ගේ දහමෙකි. සැඩ ගොරෝසු වචනයට තිරිසනා පවා අකමැතිය. ඒ ගැන මිනිසුන්ගේ අපි‍්‍රයත්වය ඉතා අධිකය. සමහර මිනිසුන්ගේ කටේ කෙටේරියක් තිබේ. (පුරිසස්හි ජාතසස් කුඨාරි ජායතෙ මුඛෙ) යි බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ දේශනා කොට වදාළේ මෙබඳු මර්මචේඡදක සැරපරුෂ වචන කතා කරන්නවුන් අරමුණු කරගෙනය. අනුන් ගේ සිත් සතන් තුටු පහටු වන්නාවූ මනොඥ වචනයක්ම කියන්නැයි ද අමනොඥ වචන කිසිවිටෙකැ නොකියන්නැ (මනුඤ්ඤමෙව භාසෙය්‍ය නාමනුඤ්ඤං කුදාවනං) යී ද බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ දේශනා කළේ පි‍්‍රය මනාප වචනය උතුම් මිනිස් දහමක් බැවිනි.

මඩවල උපාලි හිමියන්ගේ භාවනා අත්පොතට පෙරවදනක්‌ සපයන මහාචාර්ය සුමනපාල ගල්මංගොඩ මෙසේ භාවනාව ගැන ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.
බුදුදහමෙහි ප්‍රායෝගික හරය ගැබ්වී ඇත්තේ භාවනාවෙහිය. බෞද්ධ ධර්ම මාර්ගය කෙරෙහි දේශීය විදේශීය බොහෝ දෙනෙකුගේ දැඩි අවධානය යොමුවී ඇත්තේද මෙම ආධ්‍යාත්මික සංවර්ධන ක්‍රියාදාමය නිසාය. බුදුන් වහන්සේ විසින් පෙන්වා දෙනු ලැබූ ජීවිතයේ උත්තම යථාර්ථයන් පසක්‌ කළ හැක්‌කේ ද වීර්යය හා බැඳුණු මෙම ක්‍රියාමාර්ගය තුළින්ය. එහෙත් නූතනයේ භාවනාව තරම් වැරදි හා අපහැදිලි අර්ථ කථනයන්ට ලක්‌වූ තවත් බෞද්ධ මාතෘකාවක්‌ නැති තරම්ය. ඊට හේතු රාශියකි. පැහැදිලි අත්දැකීමක්‌ නොමැති හුදු බුද්ධි ගෝචර දත්ත ආශ්‍රයෙන් භාවනාව ගැන විග්‍රහ කිරීම හා මානසික ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වය පිළිබඳ විවරණ කිසිවෙකුගේ අභියෝගයට ලක්‌නොවීම ඊට ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් බලපා ඇති බව පෙනේ.
භාවනාවේ ඇති මනෝවිද්‍යාත්මක වැදගත්ම ගැනද බොහෝ අය අවධානය යොමු කරමින් පර්යේෂණ කටයුතු කරගෙන යනු ලැබේ. මනෝවෛද්‍ය මහාචාර්ය විජය දිසානායක භාවනාවේ ඇති මනෝවිද්‍යාත්මක අගයක්‌ මෙසේ දක්‌වා ඇත. පෙරදිග ලෝකය තුළ භාවනා සංකල්පයට ඉතාමත් දීර්ඝ ඉතිහාසයක්‌ ඇති මුත් යුරෝපා ඇමෙරිකා වැනි බටහිර ලෝකයට නම් භාවනාව යන්න ඉතා මෑතකදී භාවිතයට පැමිණි සංකල්පයක්‌ය. මේ පිළිබඳ ඔවුන් තුළ අලුත් උද්යෝගයක්‌ සහ අවධානයක්‌ විශේෂයෙන්ම මනෝවිද්‍යා ක්‍ෂේත්‍රවල කටයුතු කරන මනෝවෛද්‍යවරුන් මනෝචිකිත්සකයින්, මනෝවිද්‍යාඥයින් අතර දක්‌නට ඇත.

Hewavitarne Industrial School
Anagarika Dharmapala
Many people remember Anagarika Dharmapala for his religious zeal. But there was another aspect to this national figure – his practical vision regarding the alleviation of poverty. The Hewavitarna School, though neglected now, remains a testament to this vision.
Few associate the Hewavitarne School, a rather nondescript building in Rajagiriya with one of Sri Lanka’s foremost religious figures, Anagarika Dharmapala. Today, though neglected, the school remains a testament to the Anagarika’s pragmatic vision, an aspect of this great man often overshadowed by his religious zeal.
In an era when the Sinhalese were succumbing to the pressures of the British Raj, and nothing was being done to overcome their lethargy and passive submission, rose the voice of Anagarika Dharmapala who waged a historical struggle for freedom and to gain the rights over Buddhagaya, the revered birth place of Gauthama Buddha.
