තිස්කපක් මුළුල්ලෙහි ශක්‍ර දේවේන්ද්‍රව, අටවිසිවරක් රටෙහි සක්විති රජවී ද ඇත.

The Sangha – Ven Bhikkhu Bodhi Thero

The presence of the Triple Gem thus depends upon the the ariyan Sangha or community of noble sages who have realized the ultimate, world-transcending truth.

In my view, it is a task for the Sangha to serve as the voice of Buddhist conscience in the world.

මහනාහිමියන් විසින් රචිත බෞද්ධයගේ අත්පොත නම් කෘතියෙන් ශීලය සම්බන්දව පලකර කොටසින් (පිටු අංක 121 සිට 135) පිටපත් කර ගන්නා ලදී.

ශීලය ස්ත්‍රී, පුරුෂ, ගිහි, පැවිදි, බාල, මහලු සෑම දෙනාට ම සුදුසු ඇදුමකී. උඩු සුළගෙහි ද යන්නා වූ ස්වර්ගය තෙක් පැතිරෙන්නා වූ සුවදෙකි. කෙලෙස් රෝගයට දිව්‍ය ඖෂධයකී. කෙලෙස් නමැති විෂයට දිව්‍ය මන්ත්‍රයකි. . කෙලෙස් සතුරනට ඇතුළු විය නො හෙන බලකොටුවෙකි. පව් නමැති කිලුටු සෝදා හරින්නා වූ දුක් ගිනි නිවන්නා වූ ජලයෙකි. සියලු සැපයට හේතුවෙකි. උතුම් ධනයෙකි. මහා බලයෙකි. මහා පිහිටෙකි. සියලු බුදු, පසේ බුදු, මහ රහතන්වහන්සේලාගේ තීර්ථයෙකි. නිවනට පිවිසෙන දොරටුවෙකි.

NIBBANA – Ven Bhikkhu Bodhi Thero

The Buddha says that he teaches only Dukkha and the cessation of Dukkha, that is, suffering and the end of suffering. The First Noble Truth deals with the problem of suffering. However, the truth of suffering is not the final word of the Buddha’s teaching. It is only the starting point. The Buddha starts with suffering, because his teaching is designed for a particular end: it is designed to lead to liberation. In order to do this he must give us a reason for seeking liberation. If a man does not know that his house is on fire, he lives there enjoying himself, playing and laughing. To get him to come out we first have to make him understand that his house is on fire.

In the same way the Buddha announces that our lives are burning with old age, sickness and death. Our minds are flaming with greed, hatred and delusion. It is only when we become aware of the peril that we are ready to seek a way to release.

“sathwayan සත්වයන් උපදනා ස්ථානයෝ “
අතිපූජ්‍ය රේරුකානේ චන්දවිමල මහනාහිමි

මහනාහිමියන් විසින් රචිත බෞද්ධයගේ අත්පොත නම් කෘතියෙන් “සත්වයන් උපදනා ස්ථානයෝ ” සම්බන්දව පලකර කොටසින් (පිටු අංක 189 සිට 196) පිටපත් කර ගන්නා ලදී.

තම තමන් කළා වූ කර්මවල සැටියට සත්ත්වයන් උපදනා ස්ථාන කාම භූමිය ය, රූප භූමිය ය, අරූප භූමිය යයි තුනෙකි. අපාය භූමි සතර ය, මිනිස් ලොව ය, දෙව්ලෝ සය ය යි කාම භූමි එකොළෙසකි.

එහි අපාය භූමි සතරය, යනු නරකය ය, තිරිසන් යෝනිය ය, ප්‍රේත නිකාය ය, අසුර නිකාය ය යන මේවා ය.

සසර සැරිසරන්නා වූ සත්ත්වයන් සුගතියෙහි ද උපදින නුමුත් බොහෝ සෙයින් උපදින්නේ දුගතියෙහි ය. එ බැවින් ඔවුනට සතර අපාය සිය නිවෙස බඳු ය. එක් එක් සත්ත්වයකු විසින් වර්ෂ සිය ගණනකට වරකුදු පිපාසාව සන්සිඳෙන පමණට පැනක් හා කුසගින්න සන්සිඳෙන පමණට අහරක් ද නො ලැබ ඉතා දුකසේ කල් යවන ප්‍රේත ව අතීතයෙහි උපන් වාරයන්ගේ ප්‍රමාණයක් ද නැත්තේ ය.

භයානක රූප ඇති යම රකුසන් විසින් වෑ පොරෝ වලින් කපමින් යහුල්වලින් හනිමින් ගිනියම් වූ ලොහො ගුලි ලෝදිය මුව බහාලමින් අපමණ දුක් දෙන සඤ්ජිවාදි නරකවල උපන් වාරයන්ගේ ප්‍රමාණයක් නැත්තේ ය. නිවනට නො පැමිණ සසර රැඳුන හොත් සත්ත්වයාට මතු ද එසේ ම කටුක දුක් බොහෝ විඳින්නට සිදු වන්නේ ය.

කරුණු මෙසේ හෙයින් සසර රැඳී සිටීමේ භයානකත්වය කියා නිම කළ නොහේ. ඒ බව දත් බුද්ධාදි උත්තමයෝ සංසාර බන්ධනය සිඳ සසරින් එතර ව නිවන් පුරයට පිවිසුනාහු ය. දුකින් මිදෙනු කැමැත්තෝ ඒ නිවනට පැමිණීමට උත්සාහ කරත්වා.

සම්මා සම්බුදුරජානණ් වහන්සේ අතීත, වර්තමාන, අනාගත කාලත්‍රයට අයිති සර්ව ධර්මයන් අතට ගත් නෙල්ලි ගෙඩියක් සේ අඩුවක් නැතිව දැක වදාළ නිසා සම්මා සම්බුද්ධ නම් වේ. බුදුරජානණ් වහන්සේගේ සියල්ල දක්නා වු සර්වඥනථා ඥාණයෙන් දේශනා කොට වදාළ “කල්‍යාණ මිත්‍ර සම්පත්තිය” පිලිබද ධර්ම දේශනාව නා උයනේ අරියධම්ම මහනාහිමි මනා ලෙස විග්‍රහ  කර ඇත.

කල්‍යාණ මිත්‍ර සම්පත්තිය ඇතිනම් නූපන් අකුසල් නූපදිනවා. උපන් අකුසල් ප්‍රහානය වෙනවා. නූපන්න කුසල් උපදිනවා. උපන්න කුසල් වැඩෙනවා. කල්‍යාණ මිත්‍ර ආශ්‍රය මේ තුන් ලෝකවාසී සමස්ත ලෝක සත්වයාටම ලැබේ වා.!

සියල්ලෝ ම ධර්මාවබෝධය ලබත්වා !

Buddhism and the Age of Science – U Chan Htoon

– Address to the Sixteenth IARF conference –

I am humbly aware of the magnitude of the task I have before me of presenting a picture of the Buddhist outlook and the beliefs which have shaped it; yet this I must do to the best of my ability, because the doctrines of Buddhism are inextricably woven into the pattern of Buddhist thought; and if I am to explain to you the Buddhist attitude to life and to the problems that confront mankind today, I must begin by acquainting you, at least in outline, with the fundamental tenets of this religion known to the West as Buddhism, but which we Buddhists prefer to call the Buddha Dhamma.

The Supreme Buddha’s Teaching is for all times and all men. It is capable of bringing peace, happiness and prosperity to our troubled world. As the humble spokesman of millions of Buddhists I earnestly entreat that all men of understanding and good will here present will weigh in their hearts the things I have said and form their own judgement as to whether they are true, reasonable and good. The Buddha himself did not ask more than that. May all beings be happy !

අභිධර්ම පිටකය (2 වෙනි කොටස) – ද්වේශ මූල සිත් සහ මෝහ මූල සිත්

අද අභිධර්ම පාඩමේ දෙවෙනි දවස. පළවෙනි දවසේ කළ විග්‍රහයේ සරාංශය අනුව පරමාර්ථ ධර්ම හතරක් ඇත චිත්තය, චයිතසික, රූප, නිර්වාණ කියා. 

ඒ පරමාර්ථ ධර්ම විස්තර කරන අටුවා පොතක් වන අභිධර්මාර්ථ සංග්‍රහය පරිශීලනය කරමින් මෙම විග්‍රහය පටන් ගන්නා අතර එහි පළමුවෙන් එන සිත් 89 සම්බන්දව මනා විග්‍රහයක් සමගම   පලමු පාඩමෙන් සාකච්ඡා කළ ඉතිරි වී තිබූ අකුසල් සිත් දොලොසේ (12) –  ලෝභ මූල සිත් අටට(8) පසුව එන ද්වේශ මූල සිත් 2 ක සහ මෝහ මූල සිත් 2ක ගැන මනා විග්‍රහයක් ඔබට මෙම දේශනයෙන් ලබා ගත හැක.
