The Psychological Aspect Of Buddhism – Ven.Piyadassi Thero
The Buddha spoke to all men and for all time. His teaching, the Dhamma, is for all men, whatever language they speak, whatever clothes they wear, whatever country they call ’home’—the Buddha’s language is truth. He was clothed in truth, and the whole world was his home; for truth is everywhere for all time to be realised by each one individually. This is what is meant by the universality of the Dhamma. Truth is not conceptual, and therefore, cannot be passed on by means of words or other symbols. An Enlightened One could guide us by showing the way to truth, but we ourselves should pursue the method of self-inquiry called meditation in Buddhism so that the hidden workings of the mind could be revealed, truth realised, and power within contacted.
What the Buddha taught during a period of forty-five years is so vast, its aspects so variedand fascinating that scholars called Buddhism a religion; a philosophy; an ethical code; a religiophilosophical system; and ethical idealism. But one has still to find a religion where psychology looms so large as in Buddhism. The commonly called academical psychology—like other academical sciences—defined mind in static terms, whereas Buddhist psychology defines mental life in dynamic terms.

When Does A New Human Life Begin?
A further clause in the Buddha’s consistent definition for the beginning of a human life is the location of the manifested consciousness – in the mother’s womb. Thus, there is a strong logical argument that states that even if consciousness did manifest somehow in an embryo in the lab, it still has not appeared in the mother’s womb, and therefore does not fulfill the Buddha’s definition of a human life.
Only when that embryo–with-consciousness has been implanted in the mother’s womb, then can one say that consciousness has appeared within the mother’s womb and human life begun.

බුදුරජානණ් වහන්සේ විසින් දේශිත සූත්‍රාභිධර්මවිනය සංඛ්‍යාත පිටකත්‍රය ධර්මයෙහි ද බොහෝ දුරවබෝධ තැන් ඇත්තේ ය. එබැවින් බුදුදහමට අයත් නොයෙක් කරුණු සම්බන්ධයෙන් බෞද්ධයන් අතර නොයෙක් ප්‍රශ්න ඇතිවන්නේ ය. බුදුදහම කිලිටි කරණු කැමති, බෞද්ධයන්ට පහර දෙනු කැමති, සැක උපදවා බුදුදහම ගැන බෞද්ධයන් කලකිරවනු කැමති ඇතැම් බෞද්ධයන් විසින් ඒ සදහා උපදවන බොහෝ ප්‍රශ්න ද ඇත්තේ ය. බෞද්ධත්වයක් නැතිව බෞද්ධ නාමයෙන් පෙනී සිටින,තමන් දැන ඇති යම්කිසි සුළුදෙයකින් හිස ඉදමී ඇති ඇතමුන් විසින් භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේට හා දානාදී පින්කම් කරන, හැකි පමණින් ගුණදම් පුරන සැදැහැවත් බෞද්ධයන්ටත් පහරදීම පිණිස උපදවන බොහෝ ප්‍රශ්න ද ඇත්තේ ය. භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේට හා සැදැහැවත් බෞද්ධයනට ඉමහත් කරදරයක්ව පවත්නා ඒ ප්‍රශ්නවලට පිළිතුරු ලියා ප්‍රසිද්ධියට පැමිණවීමෙන් ඔවුනට මහත් සැනසිල්ලක් වන්නේ ය.
බුරුමයේ විසූ ධර්මධරයන් වහන්සේලා විසින් තමන් වෙත ඒ ඒ අය විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කළ ප්‍රශ්නවලට පිළිතුරු සැපයීම වශයෙන් සම්පාදනය කරන ලද ධර්ම ග්‍රන්ථ බොහෝ ගණනක් බුරුම සාහිත්‍යයට ඇතුළත් ව ඇත්තේ ය. ඒ ගණයට අයත් ධර්මග්‍රන්ථ අපේ සාහිත්‍යයයේ සුලභ නැත. අප රටේ ද එබඳු දහම් පොත් ඇති කිරීමට මුල පිරීමක් වශයෙන් අප විසින් ධර්ම විනිශ්චය නමැති මේ ග්‍රන්ථය සම්පාදනය කරන ලදී.

Reconciliation between beliefs of Buddhist and other religion

සිතින් පනිවුඩ හුවමාරුකිරීම දිබ්බචක්ඛු, දිබ්බසෝත ඥාණය සම්බන්දව සංයුක්ත නිකාය,බික්ඛු සංයුක්තය, ඝට සුත්‍රය දී මුගලන් මහරහතන් වහන්සේ බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ සමග දිබ්බචක්ඛු, දිබ්බසෝත ඥාණය උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් ධර්ම කරුණු සාකච්චා කිරීම, විශේෂවූ ශක්තියක් උපයෝගී කොට ශ්‍රව්‍ය දෘශ‍ය සංනිවේදන ලබාගැනීම ගැන වටිනා සාධකයක් ලෝකය හමුවේ බුදුදහම මෙම සුත්‍රයෙන් එලිදක්වා ඇත.
සංනිවේදන සදහා භාවිතාවූ සියලු භාෂාවන් සාපේක්ෂව බිහිවූ ඒවා අතර අප ජීවත්වන ත්‍රිමාන ලෝකෙන් ඔබ්බෙහි යම් නිරපේක්ෂව වූ භාෂාවක් විශ්වයේ ඇත. උදා; අතිපූජ්‍ය බෙල්ලන ශ්‍රී ඤාණවිමල හිමියන්ගේ “පෙනෙන ලොව තුල නොපෙනෙන ලොවක්” ,පොතේ වටිනා සාධක ඇත.
ශ්‍රවයතා සීමාවන් ඉක්මවා අතිශය සංවේදීවූ පරාසයක් කරාද විඥානය මෙහෙවිය හැකි බවත්, සිත දියුණු කිරීම තුලින් එම හැකියාව ලැබෙන බව ත්‍රිපිටකයේ මෙම සුත්‍රයට අමතරව තවත් විශාල සුත්‍ර සංඛ්‍යාවන් මගින් තහවුරු කොට ඇත.

කාලාම සුත්‍රය – අංගුත්තර නිකාය
ගංගොඩවිල සෝම හිමි
කාලාම සූත්‍රය ආශ්‍රයෙන් මෙම ධර්ම දේශනය අද කාලයට ගලපා අපට සිතන්න යමක් සෝම හාමුදුරුවන් එදා දේශනා කළා. එය අදටත් වලංගු නොවේ ද? හොදින් සවන් යොමු කරන්න. අප සිංහල ජාතියට වැරදුන, ඉදිරියටත් වැරදින තැන සොයා ගෙන එයට පිලියම් සෙවීමට කාලය දැන් පැමිණ ඇත.
අපේ සිංහල දරුවන් දැනගන්න ඔය ඇත්තන්ට මේ රටේ අනාගතයක් නැහැ කියලා. බලන්න අද 80% අන්‍යාගමික දරුවනට ඉංග්‍රීසි , දෙමල, සිංහල පුළුවන්. කොහොමද අපේ සිංහල දරුවන්ට? ඔවුනගෙන් 80% කට ඉංග්‍රීසිත් බැහැ, දෙමළත් බැහැ. දැන් හිතන්න මේ ජ්‍යාත්‍යන්තර භාෂාව වන ඉංග්‍රීසි නොදන්න නිසා උසස් රැකියාවලට කව්ද එන්නේ කියල.
එදා සෝම හිමි කියූ මේ කථාව අද 2012 වන විට සැබෑ වෙලා නැද්ද? බලන්න අද ආයතන වලට ගොස් පරීක්ෂා කරලා.
